It seems that many people throughout this entire planet are looking for home security systems. It is from the fear they feal from ever-increasing threats of being burglarized. The thought of some uninvited crook breaking into your home has put us up in arms. A home is supposed to be a place of sanctuary; a place of comfort; a place of safety and security.

It is a sad fact, but some people have absolutely no respect for the sanctity of someone else's home. They just do not care and would steal your possession without any remourse. To make matters worse, the burglar would destroy your place of sanctuary and if you are in their way they may even cause you harm.

This fear we feel has not only revolutionized the home security system industry but it has evolved into high tech, state of the art home security equipment that has become in high demand. This demand for proper protection for self and home is increasing exponentially.

The problem with this is that there are so many different types of security products that try to satisfy the needs of so many people that have different needs, they may tend to purchase products that are either are not adequate enough or way too much for their needs.

Having said that, when we make substantial investments for safety reasons, quality should always prevail. After all, you can't put a price on life. Life is precious, so when it comes to purchasing a home security system always buy the best that you can afford. However, in order to know what the best is you need to do your homework. Right? The more questions you ask, the more you learn so you can make a proper and educated decision on your purchase.

So what is the best home security system??

I think this is the wrong question to ask. You need to ask 'what is the best home security system for me?'

This is still a difficult question to ask because there are a great many systems out on the market. But the best alarm system is one that is well suited and most effective for your house and not someone else's. Each house has its "best" home alarm system. It's just a matter of figuring out which components you need to make your system to a proper job of protecting your best interests.

The following contains a few tips that I hope will help:

A burglar has three main enemies:

  • 1) Light – burglar's obviously prefer to work in darkness to prevent any possibily of identification. As the saying goes -"you can't catch what you can't see", and burglars' definitely do not want to get caught. The first major component you want to add to a quality home security alarm system is to incorporate light. This alone can be enough to discourgage many would be crooks.
  • 2) Time – thieves have an old saying that goes something like - “breat in, grab the loot, and get out and fast". Burglars even have practice sessions to perfect their technique so they can shorten the time they need to make off with your valuables.

Quick entries and quick escapes are any burglars' main goals. The best security system for you are components that can delay a burglar to enable the police to catch him.

  • 3) Noise – Along with not wanting to be seen, a burglar also does not want to be heard. They depend on stealth in order to perform their dastardly deeds. Components that can ruin a crook's attempts at breaking into a home include motion detectors that sound an alarm.

My favorite noise maker of all time, though, is a big dog like a german shephard. I met a guy last year whose cousin just got out of jail for commiting numerous breakins'. He said he always looks around the yard or through any windows for any pets. If he sees any animals at all, he stays away. He got caught because he broke into a house through the attached garage. He missed the dog that was in the garage sleeping. As he ran out the door the police just happend to drive by to greet him.

However, alarms should be included in the best home security system in order for other people to be alerted of a burglary... even if they are not within visual range of the thief.

Now that you know what burglars are afraid of, here are some devices that could help you out.

    1) Motion-detectors – the best home security system needs to have motion-detectors. These may either incorporate laser beams or infra-red light to detect sudden movement, such as those made by thieves.

These motion-detectors then either hook up to an alarm, or switch on lights.

    2) Locks – often a home’s first defense the lock has evolved continually with burglar’s growing cunning.

The best home security system should use a combination of electronic and conventional locks.

Burglars grow more sophisticated and use technology to unlock electronically-sealed doors. However, these techno-savvy thieves often do not know how to unlock a simple deadbolt.

Of course, a lock is useless unless you have a good strong door.

With both, you may just cost a burglar enough time to give up the entire enterprise.

    3) Surveillance – the last line of defense in case of a burglary, cameras incorporated into the best home security system may at least give you hope of recovering your lost possessions.

Some of the best surveillance technology nowadays uses facial recognition technology in order to give the authorities a better lead to catch that criminal.

Those are just some tips that you can use to find the best home security system for you. However, you should keep in mind that the best home security system is useless if you do not use your head and think carefully.
